Glory-of-the-Snow - Chionodoxa forbesii

Star-shaped flowers in bright blue with a white centre, several to a stem. It gets its name from flowering as the snow clears in its native Turkish mountains, and it will push through cold weather here without complaint. It seeds around freely, which makes it useful for covering ground under shrubs.

Plant 25–50 in drifts under shrubs, in grass or in a rockery. A pot takes 15–20 bulbs.

Not known to be toxic to cats and dogs.
